MOBILE DATA
The Division of Communications installs, maintains, and programs mobile data terminal (MDT) and automatic vehicle location (AVL) equipment supporting Delaware Transit Corporation. Dispatchers communicate with drivers and monitor the status of their fleet using the statewide 800 MHz voice system and a statewide 450 MHz data system.

The infrastructure consists of fixed radio sites, computer aided dispatch/automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) host computers, and CAD/AVL workstations. The equipment within the fleet consists of MDT’s, data radios, terminal interface boards, global positioning satellite antennas, 450 MHz antennas, power filters, emergency alarms, odometer interface units and annunciators.
